What I Read in March

Books are uniquely portable magic. Stephen King

Book reviews of: No ordinary life, Maybe in another life, After you and Arranged.

No ordinary life by Suzanne Redfearn   (3)
A video goes viral and from one day to the other a 4 year old become a YouTube sensation.  As a consequence she got a lead role in a TV show.  The books describes insides of the entertainment business and how fame affects the life of a family.   The books has good reviews but in my opinion it starts slow.  It took me forever to read it, that's a bad sign.

Maybe in another life by Taylor Jenkins Reid   (3)
The premise of this book is the butterfly effect, the concept that a small event can have large consequences.   The book explore the 2 possible directions in the life of Hannah Martin. What could have happen if she had made a different decision?
I have read other books of the author and she writes in a way the story captures you.  I don't think is her best book.

After you by Jojo Moyes   (4)
Me before you is one of my favorites book, ever. I wish I could say the same about the sequel: After you.   If you love the first book, I am not sure you will have the same feelings about this one. If curiosity kill the cat and you want to know what happen with Louisa after Will died, read it.
Overall, an okay book. I can't say I didn't like it, but it was nothing near as good as Me before you.

Arranged by Catherine McKenzie   (2.5)
You have had bad relationships and everyone around you seem to be married or soon to be.  So, you decided to hire a company that promise will find you a perfect match with whom you will marry, almost without knowing him.   I find the whole concept of the book so sad: to take major decisions of your life, just because I want what everyone else has.  I found it quite disturbing.
I read it while I was on a trip.  It was an okay book to be read at the pool but besides that I wouldn't recommend it.

Sadly, I didn't pick any book that I loved.  But that's the way it is with books!  Other books I have read recently:
