52 books in 52 weeks. June

"Love. It was the beginning and end of everything, the foundation and the ceiling and the air in between" Kristin Hannah, The Nightingale

52 books in 52 weeks. Book reviews of: The DUFF, Luckiest girl alive, The book of unknown americans and The nightingale

A book from set in hight school  (3)
The DUFF: Desingnated ugly fat friend by Kody Keplinger
I saw the trailer of the movie and it was described as the next "Mean girls" and thought that it will be a funny book to read.  I was ready for a chick-flick and I ended completely disappointed. In my opinion it gives all the wrong messages about relationships, commitments and emotional abuse. Maybe I am too old for it.

A mystery or thriller ★ (2)
Luckiest girl alive by Jessica Knoll
This book has mainly good reviews and is a best seller.  I had great expectations but it failed on everyone, probably the worst book I had read this year.   The main character a successful twenty-something living in New York Ani Fanelli, looks back at her high school days at prep school, all she did to fit in and events that changed her life forever.

A book base entirely on its cover ★ (4)
The book of unknown americans by Cristina Henriquez
I love this book it describes the difficulties the Rivera family encounter when they move to the US seeking better education for their daughter Maribel.  It portraits the sacrifices we made when we leave our country, friends and family and how easy it is to fall in love with this country we call home. I wish everyone could read this book

A book a friend recommended  (5)
The nightingale by Kristin Hannah
I am a big fan of historical fiction and when a friend recommended it I knew this book was for me.  The story take place in France during the World War 2 and how 2 sister Isabelle and Vianne survived.  It is the untold story of women in war the sacrifices, courage and fear they lived.  I loved the characters and truly loved the book.

Other books I have read this year:
52 books in 52 weeks. What she left behind, The husband's secret, Yes please and Everything I never told you. 52 books in 52 weeks. Last one home, The girl on the train, The life intended and The house on Mango Street
