Paris in 5 days

 “We will always have Paris”
― Howard Koch.  Casablanca

For me Paris is a city where there is charm, history and beauty everywhere around from the architecture, the perfectly dress people to the most beautiful pastries. It was a privilege and an absolute pleasure to be there.  I can't wait to go back!

I already told you some things we did during our stay.  In case you wonder, we also went to museums.  We visited  The Louvre, which is a must. We also went to Musee d' Orsay, located where it used to be a train station, now fill with art from the mid 1800 to the 20th century, many famous paintings from Van Gogh, Renoir and Monet.  Sadly it was crowded and the experience was not at all enjoyable.

We went to the Orangerie, where we were able to seat and enjoyed Monet's "Nympheas". We walked through the Tuileries garden and then enjoyed one of the most iconic thing to eat on a trip to Paris: Macaroons from Ladurée at rue Royale.

As many will said Montmartre is not what it used to be but still it was a pleasure to wander in the steeps an cobbled streets of one of the most historic and interesting neighborhood of the city, the place where the great artist and writers of the past century lived.   We visited the Basilica of Sacre-coeurPlace du Tertre, where you can find many artist painting watercolors and portrait sketchers. We found a tiny park where there is wall call "Le mur des je t'aime",  I love you is written in 250 languages.

We strolled in Champes-Élysées, went to the top of the Arc du triomphe, went up to the Eiffel Tower twice, at day and night and wandered around the streets at the Marais, where we found Jewish delis, a nice cafe where we hang out and the best crepes! I definitely agree: "Paris is always a good idea".
