“San Francisco has only one drawback - it's hard to leave”
― Rudyard Kipling
San Francisco is one of my favorites cities to visit. The last 2 times we have been there, we have done the touristy attractions or have had busy schedules. This time we just wanted to enjoy the city, stroll, have good food and relax.
We explored the neighborhoods nearby the hotel we stayed, drove to Sausalito, strolled and ate lunch at Sausalito, had dinner with friends and ate and wandered at the Ferry building.
Our favorites from this trip:
Restaurants/Cafes
Caffe Trieste (North Beach)
Perfect combination of old Italy, art, music and excellent espresso. Francis Coppola wrote much of the screenplay of the "The Godfather" at the cafe.
Barrique (Jackson Square)
A unique wine bar where the wine is served straight from barrels and come from small vineyards. They also have bottles and offer cheese and meat plates. They one you to enjoy your company and wines so selfies are forbidden.
Ferry building (Financial district)
The place where you can buy gourmet cheeses, chocolates, olive oils, wine, local produce and enjoy views of the bay. Perfect place where to get a bite. We have been here before and we totally love this place.
Shopping
Marine Layer (Hayes Valley)
Super soft clothing made in San Francisco
Lavish (Hayes Valley)
